Running a Leosmak compact freeze dryer

Bought a Leosmak freeze dryer and not sure how to use it? Don’t worry: freeze drying has never been as simple and intuitive as with a Leosmak.
First, plug the freeze dryer in and switch it on using the switch on the back. You can also fit a hose to the water drainage outlet, which sits next to the nameplate. Load your trays onto the shelves and close the door.
One of the biggest advantages of a Leosmak freeze dryer is Wi-Fi monitoring through the Leosmak app. Download it from the App Store or Google Play, switch on Wi-Fi, enter your network details, open the app and scan the QR code in the Wi-Fi connection menu. Done — your machine is online and ready to be monitored from anywhere in the world.
The menu has three process phases and one service phase. Each can run in auto or manual mode. To change the parameters of any phase, switch off auto mode, adjust the settings and press Save.
The service menu is used to run the defrost cycle and to open the air-inlet and water drainage valves. Remember: defrosting must be done with no product in the chamber. Open the air valve if, say, the power fails and you need to let air into the chamber to open the door. Open the water drainage to clear excess water before the next cycle, or when washing the chamber. Both valves close automatically when the next cycle starts.
To reach the vacuum pump, open the doors at the bottom of the unit. The oil should be changed about once a quarter, or even less often. The unit tells you when an oil change is due — or change it if the vacuum drops.
